Get Smart - Join a Christian Education Class this Fall

Encourage your heart. Feed your mind Take a class this fall and deepen your understanding while you make new friends. Check out the Christian Education offerings. Classes will meet at 10 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

The Politics of God -- Dr. David Anderson and Dr. Don Crittenden -- F100A

When the topics of faith and politics come together, controversy often results. Believers can enter into conversation that creates more light than heat? Come and explore the intersection of faith and public policy in this timely class. For more info on this course, go to this site.

Operation World View -- Laurie Sprague and Carol Dolan -- F204

Revealing God's glory to all people is the ultimate theme of Scripture, the ultimate fuel for mission, and the goal of life for followers of Jesus Christ. OPERATION WORLDVIEW is an 8-week, 90 minute class using video, Bible study, and group discussion to explore the biblical, historical, cultural, and strategic components of God's grand plan for drawing the nations to him. The class meets from 10 to 11:30. Its next offering will fit the schedule of those attending the 11:00 service.

Christians in Action (CIA) -- Joe and Cathy Teague -- F205

CIA is an open small group, composed of people of all ages, CIA members combine a desire to study with an equal effort to put their knowledge into practice. This fall they begin a study entitled, “Grace: an Invitation to a Way of Life.” Using Psalm 23 as a backdrop, you will discover how God, the Good Shepherd, walks with you though life’s challenges.

The Serendipity Class -- Mark Brown -- The Serendipity Room

The Serendipity Class meets in the Serendipity Room in Martin Hall—hence the name. The class is beginning a study called “Gifts”, which is designed to help you develop your passion to be used by God. You will discover your unique place in the body of Christ and how to overcome the obstacles that hinder your service in God’s kingdom.

MERGE 20’s/30’s -- Todd Calhoun -- F203

All the Short Books. A look at what God is saying in the shortest books of the Bible. It’s self-explanatory. It’s fun. For post-college-age and 20s and 30s.

DOT:COM -- Todd and Shana Snoeyink -- F202

DOTCOM (Drawing others together, Couples’ Outreach Ministry) is a group of lively young adults seeking to know God in the company of friends. If you are looking for a class with energy and spirit, this is the class for you.

The Choir Class -- Paula Pratt -- M201

This class also uses the sermon as a framework for discussion and learning. Out of this reflection will come both a better understanding of Scripture and its application for life today. They will also study the worship anthems in light of the message. The class is open to anyone, but works around the Choir’s schedule.
